Honkpad

YouTube, Kick and TikTok chat with Social Stream Ninja

Honkpad reads Twitch chat by itself. Social Stream Ninja is a free tool that collects live chat from YouTube, Kick, TikTok and many other sites. It can send every message to Honkpad on your computer, and then chat commands and keywords play memes like Twitch chat does. Forwarded chat is free, also after early access, and works on Mac and Windows. No API keys needed.

1. Copy the chat address

In Honkpad, open Settings, then Advanced, then Chat from other platforms (free). Copy the address next to Social Stream Ninja. It looks like this and contains your private token:

http://127.0.0.1:7840/api/chat?token=YOUR_TOKEN

Keep the token private: anyone with it can send chat to your Honkpad. Social Stream Ninja has to run on the same computer as Honkpad.

2. Send chat from Social Stream Ninja

Set up Social Stream Ninja for your platforms as its own guide on socialstream.ninja explains. Then, in its settings, turn on Send all to POST server and paste the address from step 1.

You can also add the address to your dock page link with the postserver parameter, URL-encoded: &postserver= followed by the encoded address.

If your browser asks whether the page may access devices on your local network, allow it: Honkpad listens on your own computer.

3. Test it

Give a meme a chat command, for example !horn, and type it in your YouTube, Kick or TikTok chat. In Honkpad, open On stream: the message appears in Activity, and the meme plays. If nothing shows up, check that Social Stream Ninja is running and that the address has your current token.

What Honkpad skips

  • Twitch rows: Honkpad already reads Twitch chat itself and would play every meme twice.
  • Paid rows (donations, Super Chats, memberships) and system events. Paid events come through Streamer.bot or TikFinity instead (link below).
  • First-time chatter: forwarded chat never counts as a viewer's first message.
  • More than 20 messages a second from one platform.

Forward paid events with Streamer.bot

Good to know

  • Forward each platform's chat one way only. Using Social Stream Ninja for Kick and the Streamer.bot Kick chat action at the same time plays every meme twice.
  • Viewers from other platforms show as youtube:name, kick:name or tiktok:name in Activity. Add that form to Blocked users in Honkpad's settings to block them.
  • Forwarded chat carries no moderator or subscriber role, so chat commands limited to roles and the !hp mod commands only work from Twitch chat.
  • Cooldowns, the pause between chat memes and per-viewer limits apply the same way as for Twitch chat.
