What stays on your computer

Your memes, sounds, GIFs, boards, hotkeys and settings are stored on your computer only. So are the tokens you paste for StreamElements or Streamlabs.

Honkpad reads Twitch chat without a Twitch login, directly from your computer. Chat messages are not sent to our server. When the setup wizard writes your stream key into OBS, Honkpad does not keep a copy.

You can use Honkpad without an account. Then nothing about you is stored on our server.

Your account

A free account is needed once memes play on a live stream, for viewer triggers and for Pro. When you sign in we store:

• your email address and an account ID (sign-in runs through Google Firebase Authentication, with a passkey, Google or an email link);
• public keys of the passkeys you add (never the private key);
• the computers signed in to your account: a name, the platform, the app version and when each was last seen;
• for a sign-in request from the app: a hashed IP address and an approximate country and city, so the approval page can warn you when the request came from another network;
• your plan and, if you ever pay, your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and their status;
• messages you send through the feedback form.

Payments

Paid Pro is not on sale during early access. When it is, payment runs through Stripe Checkout. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us; we keep the Stripe IDs and status needed to give you Pro.

Honkpad Tips is a preview that runs in Stripe test mode only, so no real money moves. A test tip stores the viewer's chosen name, message, amount, the meme or text effect and the payment status. The name and message are shown to the streamer, to the moderators the streamer adds, and on stream. Messages are checked by an automatic filter and can be held for the streamer's approval. Streamers connect their own Stripe account to receive tips; Stripe processes that account's details.

Analytics

honkpad.com sends anonymous page views and clicks to TelemetryDeck with a random ID that lasts for one browser session. It sends nothing if your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control turned on.

The app sends anonymous usage events (for example, that a meme played or which setup step you reached) to TelemetryDeck with a random install ID. It sends no names, emails, chat messages or file names. You can turn this off in the app's settings, and nothing is sent before the first-run setup ends.

Our server also counts some events anonymously, such as a download.

Services that process data for us

How long we keep data

• Account data stays until you delete your account.
• Finished entries in a stream's live tip queue are deleted after 7 days.
• Expired sign-in requests and passkey challenges are deleted automatically.
• A page name you gave up stays reserved for you for 180 days, so old links and QR codes don't lead to someone else.
• Payment records are kept for accounting. When you delete your account, your name is removed from them.

Deleting your account

On your account page, choose Delete account. This removes your profile, your computers, your passkeys and your streams, and signs Honkpad out everywhere. It can't be undone. Data on your computer stays there until you remove the app.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion through the feedback form. If you live in the EU or the UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority.
